As Berlin celebrated 50 years since Stonewall, Zalando took part in Berlin’s Christopher Street Day (CSD) demo for the second year. Zalando’s participation in the event was a cross-departmental effort, with Zalando’s LGBTQI+ community a core driver.
This year saw the return of the Zalando truck, festooned with colorful banners and flags, and sharing the motto, “Come As You Are.” Pictured on the side of the truck were six representatives of Zalando’s community; employees who became the faces and voices of CSD at Zalando through poster campaigns, a video series, and huge banners visible at various Zalando locations. Pride activities could also be seen in the Zalando fashion store: a rainbow “wishlist heart” and a special Pride collection. Offline, the Zalando Beauty Station at Weinmeisterstraße 2, Berlin offered sparkling makeovers ahead of the parade.
Zalando’s attendance at Pride was an opportunity to showcase meaningful core values and engagement in issues that are important to the company and the consumers; for years Zalando has enabled millions of customers to turn their authentic personal identity into the everyday art of personal style. The deep-rooted belief of Fashion Liberation is translated in the promise that Zalando enables people to express their best selves through fashion.
